The EQM shows that a product complies with the relevant UAE national and international standards, and that the manufacturer has implemented an effective quality management system. The EQM is a widely recognized and trusted mark of quality in the region. It therefore boosts consumer confidence and increases sales of products that bear it.
While for some products the EQM is mandatory (see here for details), for most products it is an optional mark. The EQM is a quality mark that, with its wide recognition, boosts consumer confidence. Also, for products regulated under the Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) (see here for details about ECAS), the EQM as a higher value certification can be used as a replacement of the ECAS certificate for the clearing of shipments to the UAE.
Even for products for which the EQM is not mandatory, a certification can be useful. First of all, you are eligible to print the EQM on your products, and as a widely recognized quality mark, it will boost consumer confidence and thus increase sales.
Also, the EQM can be used as a replacement for the often mandatory Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) certification (see here for details about ECAS), and thus ease the shipment of your products to the UAE.

You can see in your personal quotation if an on-site audit is necessary. In many cases the EQM can be granted with an audit only based on a document review.

Yes, this is possible. We are able to perform both audits at the same time so that from that perspective no additional costs will be generated for you. It will then come down basically to the additional license costs for the SQM.
