Halal Certification
Your Gateway to New Markets
RACS is an international Halal certification body specialized in the region of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Our Headquarters are in Dubai with local offices around the world such as in Germany, the UK and the US, just to name a few.
We are accredited by the GCC Accreditation Centre (GAC) and the Emirates International Accreditation Centre (EIAC). We are also registered with the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) and have recently been approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) to facilitate Halal certifications for Saudi Arabia market.
The RACS Halal certificate is widely recognized, especially in the Middle East, and a valuable asset for exporters to promote their products to Muslims.
The certificate is valid for three years, and subject to yearly surveillance audits.
For certain products a Halal certification is mandatory in order to be exported to the GCC region. Such products include
- Raw meat, processed meat, slaughtering byproducts
- All products containing meat, animal parts or slaughtering byproducts
- Energy drinks
For most other products a Halal certification is optional, but still recommended. Whether you plan to export to the Middle East, or just supply your local market, a Halal certification adds real value to your products. Considering growing Muslim populations in most countries, Halal products are highly sought after in nearly every market and boost consumer confidence.
Note: In order to mark your products with a Halal mark in the UAE, you need in addition to a recognized Halal certificate also the license to use the unified Halal National Mark (HNM). Find out more about the HNM
